Get the daily rep into your channel
Setup takes about a minute. You need no account and no card. For what the integration does before you install, see the Slack overview.
The Slack integration overview covers what Atomic Reps does and the permissions it asks for. This page is the step-by-step install for the engineer setting it up in a fresh workspace.
Step 1 - Add to Slack
Click the button below. It is the same button as on the home page and the Slack page, and the one you will find in the Slack Marketplace once we are listed. Slack shows its standard OAuth consent screen with every permission Atomic Reps requests. Approve it to install the bot into your workspace. There is no account to create and no card to enter; the free tier starts immediately.
The consent screen lists eight bot scopes. The scopes page documents each one and what breaks without it. In short: chat:write lets us post the question, channels:read lets you choose the channel, users:read.email matches Slack identities to workspace members, and commands registers /reps. We request no message-history scope, so we never read your conversations.
Step 2 - Pick your channel in the welcome DM
Right after the install, Atomic Reps sends you (and only you, the installer) a direct message with a channel picker. Choose the channel the team already watches, for example #platform-eng. Because we request chat:write.public, Atomic Reps can post to any public channel without an invite. For a private channel, run /invite @Atomic Reps in that channel, then pick it.
If you dismissed the DM, open the bot's App Home tab. The same picker is there, and only you as the installer can see it. Picking a channel is the whole setup. The daily question posts at 9:00 AM in your timezone, each weekday, and you can move it to another channel any time from the App Home tab.
Step 3 - Send the first question, or wait for the schedule
After you pick a channel, the confirmation shows a one-time Send the first QOTD now button. It posts today's question immediately, so you can see the loop before the team does. If you skip it, the first question posts at the next scheduled weekday time. Either way, your team has nothing to install and nothing to learn first.
Step 4 - The daily loop runs
One multiple-choice question posts each weekday at your scheduled time. Everyone in the channel can answer with a single click, and each engineer's verdict comes back only to them. Any member can ask for an engineering insight with /reps insight (one a day on the free tier) and mute direct messages with /reps mute.
Step 5 - Upgrade when the loop proves itself

Checkout and the Slack install are independent: you can buy Team first and connect Slack later, or run Atomic Reps entirely on the web and by email. The Slack install is a setup step, not a condition of buying.
What the team sees on day one
At the scheduled time, the Atomic Reps app posts one multiple-choice question in the channel. A team member taps an answer, and the verdict plus a short explanation come back only to them, as an ephemeral message no one else can see. At the end of the day the question closes: the buttons come off, and we post nothing about who answered or how they did. That is the whole loop.
