Commands
The /reps command
One slash command runs everything. Every reply is an ephemeral message or a private modal, visible only to the person who ran it and never to the channel.
| Command | What it does | Response surface | Who can see it |
|---|---|---|---|
/reps | Asks today's rep, one practice question | Ephemeral card | Invoker only |
/reps rapid | Starts Rapid Fire, a 30-second sprint through as many reps as you can answer | Ephemeral card, then a modal | Invoker only |
/reps review | Runs a Retrieve-knowledge drill on the reps you recently missed | Ephemeral card, then a modal | Invoker only |
/reps insight | Shows one engineering insight on request (free tier: 1 per day) | Ephemeral card | Invoker only |
/reps stats | Shows your streak, accuracy, and totals | Ephemeral card | Invoker only |
/reps skills | Shows your skill report, by domain | Ephemeral card | Invoker only |
/reps leaderboard | Shows team standings under your chosen nickname or an anonymous handle | Ephemeral card | Invoker only |
/reps prefs | Sets the topics and difficulty your reps pull from | Modal | Invoker only |
/reps mute | Stops direct messages (unmute resumes them); channel posts keep coming | Ephemeral confirmation | Invoker only |
/reps help | Shows the full command reference | Ephemeral card | Invoker only |
Everything a command returns is private. Slack sends every reply as an ephemeral message or as a modal only you can open, so running /reps stats or answering a rep posts nothing the rest of the channel can read. The one thing the channel sees is the scheduled daily question, which closes at the end of the day without posting anything about who answered.
Also available
/reps nickname <name | clear>- Sets or clears the name shown on the leaderboard. Everyone who has answered appears there. Run/reps nickname clearto appear anonymously./reps invite <email>- Invites a teammate. Requires the invite permission./reps apprentice(also/reps pet) - Opens your in-Slack apprentice: its card, check-ins, and daily goal./reps list insights- Lists the insight topics available to your workspace.
What free includes, what Team adds
On the free tier every member gets the daily channel rep and one insight a day on request. Team adds on-demand practice (/reps, /reps rapid, /reps review), your personal stats and skill report, and your apprentice. Running a Team-only command on the free tier returns a short upgrade note rather than failing silently. A member without a seat gets a note pointing to their workspace admin. See pricing for the full split.
The App Home tab
Click Atomic Reps in the Slack sidebar to open your App Home tab. A member's tab has:
- A status line. On Team it shows your streak, accuracy, and total reps. On free it shows your streak and reps, plus a note that accuracy and the skill report come with Team.
- Action buttons: Practice a rep, Retrieve knowledge, a 30-second sprint, My skill report, and Preferences.
- Your apprentice card, which holds the daily goal, and a line naming the channel and schedule you are set to.
A workspace admin instead sees a Control Tower Home with shortcuts into the web Hub, the launch builder, team management, and Slack settings. Admins never see individual answers or per-member skill signals. Those stay with the member. See the daily rep for how a single question moves from post to summary.
